Built in 1993, Shanghai Yangpu Bridge, the main span of 602 meters, was the world’s first, which marks China’s cable-stayed bridge into the world’s leading level. Nowadays, hundreds of diagonal cable-stayed bridges with different span diameters have been built on important passages of many cities in our country. Due to the influence of load on the bridge, construction quality and design life, more and more bridges need overhaul and reinforcement. This article takes the record of the reinforcement and maintenance of Bayi Bridge (cable-stayed bridge) to discuss this topic. The Bayi Bridge consists of the main bridge, the South Bridge and the North Approach Bridge. The main bridge is 1040m in length and is divided into two symmetrical units.
