Objective: To investigate the effect of dysphagia on neurological rehabilitation in acute stroke patients and the effect of swallowing dysfunction on nutritional status of patients with acute stroke. Methods: Thirty-two patients with swallowing dysfunction admitted to our hospital from June 2010 to June 2012 were enrolled in the study. They were examined by X-ray and swallowing radiography (VFSS) 26 cases of acute stroke patients with dysfunction, compared with the nutritional parameters of the two groups were compared. Results: The mean upper arm muscle circumference, triceps skinfold thickness and mean serum albumin in the test group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: Swallowing dysfunction has a great effect on the rehabilitation of neurological function, and swallowing dysfunction will increase the incidence of complications, but also make the nutritional status worsened.
