For many years, the Ganzi Prefecture Agricultural Machinery Department has used numerous Xiaoxigou water conservancy resources to develop micro-hydroelectric power generation to solve the electricity consumption of farmers and herdsmen in remote areas. In the past 17 years, 2939 Taiwan/4250 kilowatts of micro-water motors have been promoted, benefiting 4635 households with 23,564 people. In March 2002, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Zhou Yongkang visited Yajiang County in Ganzi Prefecture, fully affirmed and provided important instructions for the development and utilization of micro-hydro power, and demanded a good grasp of our province.
