1980年代中后期以来,长三角两省一市工业结构发生了较大的变化,在这个变化过程中,工业结构升级效应较为显著,上海从工业化中期向工业化中后期迈进,江苏、浙江从工业化中前期向工业化中后期迈进。在工业结构变化和升级过程中,两省一市呈现出或多或少的差异性,这种差异性可以从两省一市外资工业发展程度的差异性得到部分解释。
