火炬松是郑州市继侧柏之后推广的又一绿化荒山的常绿树种.1989年引种试栽至今,全市栽植面积已达500hm~(2),日益显示出明显的经济效益和生态效益.随着种植面积的扩大,苗木需求量也越来越大,为保证苗木供应,降低造林成本,我站遵循引种试验中“就近育苗”的原则,从1991年开始了育苗试验.连续3年育苗存在的共同问题是:出苗率虽高,但苗木长势不旺,幼苗发红、发黄,生长缓慢,一年生苗高不足10cm,二年生苗才能达到20～30cm的出圃要求.这不仅加大了育苗成本,而且给大面积发展带来了困难.为此,我们请教著名的种苗学专家分析了导致育苗失败的原因,重新制定了育苗方案,严格把握关键技术措施,1995年育苗获得成功,达到了就近育苗、一年出圃的目的,为火炬松在新密市的大面积推广种植奠定了基础.
