To carry out the reliability life test, the difficulties encountered are firstly manifested in the massive investment requiring manpower and material resources, and the great energy consumption. If it is possible to estimate how long the specimen will last before it is tested and how much energy it will consume, some measures can be taken at the time of the test (for example, the test bed is designed to be a recovery type) in order to reduce the required test cost and save energy. This article describes the energy loss prediction method that we used to conduct a well-proven test in the reliability life test of a hydraulic pump.
