多官能团的萘磺酸如G酸等,长期以来大都用作染料中间体。由于各种官能团在萘环上相对位置的不同,这一类的许多化合物能够跟一些金属离子螯合,呈现各种颜色反应,用于一些金属的鉴定。其中有相当一部分邻氨基萘酚的重氮盐化合物,在一定的条件下具有光敏特性。邻氨基萘酚磷酸异构体的光分解速度,在紫外光照射下,已经测知。根据磺酸基在在萘环上的位置,按如下顺序依次降低:
Polyfunctional naphthalene sulfonic acids such as G acid, etc., have long been mostly used as dye intermediates.
