2006年3月21日,湖北省高级人民法院对武汉市委原常委、政法委书记、公安局局长杨世洪贪污、受贿、挪用公款一案二审作出判决。因在二审期间杨世洪检举了他人的重大犯罪线索,具有认罪悔罪表现,二审法院认为可以对其从轻处罚。故对杨世洪犯贪污罪的量刑部分改判为无期徒刑,维持原审对其犯受贿罪、挪用公款罪的判决。 On March 21, 2006, Hubei Higher People’s Court made a verdict on the second instance of corruption, bribery and embezzlement of public funds by Yang Shih-hong, former member of the Standing Committee of Wuhan Municipal Party Committee, secretary of the Politics and Law Committee and director of the Public Security Bureau. During the second instance, Yang Shihong reported the clue of major crimes committed by others and showed the performance of confession and repentance. The court of second instance considered that he could be leniently punished. Therefore, part of the sentencing of corruption committed by Yang Shihong was commuted to life imprisonment and the original trial was convicted of accepting bribes and embezzling public funds.
