The US Crustal Dynamics Program, which was planned by the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, is a space research project co-developed by NASA with the United States Geological Survey, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Defense Mapping Agency. The plan is based on the “Dafa for Earthquake Mitigation” adopted in 1977. Its main purpose is to further explore the causes of earthquakes, mitigate the losses caused by earthquakes and make forecasts as soon as possible when and where the earthquakes occur.
