现代作物育种学中的远缘杂交是正在发展中的并有很大前途的多学科综合性科学。它是以细胞遗传学、细胞生理学、细胞分类学与系统学、发育形态学、发育生物学、植物病理学等学科理论为基础,以多学科协同研制为特点的。我国在稻麦作物远缘杂交育种方面已取得了一些成果,在工作实践中,其杂交材料范围之广,亲缘关系之远,以及应用于生产上所取得的成就,在国际上也居于领先地位。但是,在某些方面特别是在理论研究上,与世界先进水平还存在着相当差距。同品种间杂交相比,远缘杂交不论从历史上或规模上都还处在幼小时
Distant hybridization in modern crop breeding is an emerging and promising multidisciplinary science.
