本文通过对社区发展基本理论脉络的评述，指出了社区研究的应有着眼点。同时，结合现代化建设这一社区发展的背景条件，力图摆正人们对社区发展的认识，提出社区发展是构建现代市民社会，同时也是实现国家现代化的根本途径。社区发展的过程是在社区组织领导下的社区人的自觉建设过程，因此，培育现代社区意识是社区发展的核心要素。在这一前提下，社区人与社区环境的良性互动，最终会以美好的社区形象展现社区发展的积极成果。
Based on the commentary on the basic theory of community development, this article points out that community research should have its own point of view. At the same time, in combination with the background conditions of the development of a modernized community, we try to straighten out our understanding of community development and put forward that community development is a fundamental way to build a modern civil society and to realize the modernization of our country. The process of community development is the conscious construction of community people under the leadership of community organizations. Therefore, cultivating modern community awareness is the core element of community development. Under this premise, the benign interaction between community people and community environment will eventually show the positive result of community development with a beautiful community image.
