This article reviews the third-level design of the MX missile being developed by Hercules for the Air Force. The third stage of solid-state engine many components and materials are used the latest technology. These new technologies include Kevlar 49 engine housings with carbon composite skirts; light nozzles for 2D and 3D carbon / carbon composites; nitric ester plasticized polyether propellants (NEPE) High specific impulse, high elongation; and two sleeve extendible outlet cone (EEC). The application of these new technologies improves the performance of the entire engine. This article gives an overview of the third-level design and its major components. In order to illustrate the MX third-class design is feasible, but also the MX third-class components designed with previously developed engines were compared.
