《美术观察》从今开始,将与我们同行,走向新世纪。 美术是人类最古老的艺术之一,是历史遗存最多的艺术,也是与人类物质生活关系最密切的艺术。自近代以来,美术总体趋向大众化、生活化,使原有的定义不断地扩展外延,即除了陈列在博物馆、画廊里的绘画、书法、雕塑等作品外,还有大量门类繁多并具有实用性的工艺美术、民间美术和建筑等,以及其他体现人们审美理想和创造精神的造型艺术,也都属于美术的范围。有人称之为“大美术”。《美术观察》便是把大美术作为“观察”的对象。当然,那些最集中体现当代创造性和审美趋向的门类和作品,则是被观察的重点。 我们观察的视角和方式是多样的,既宏观地把握美术总体的格局、思潮、走向和动态,又微观地剖析具体作品、作者或某一现象、某一问题;既看树木又见森林;既对性质、形态、内涵、构成作静态的索解,又对源流、演变、承传、变异的发展过程追溯探寻。我们还注意到当今美术已经或正在形成的横向生态圈,即从创作到展示或应用,于是产生社会影响,随之进入市场或收藏,然后再反馈于创作。

Some call it “big art.” “Art Observation” refers to the grand art as the object of “observation.” Of course, those categories and works most concentrated on contemporary creative and aesthetic trends are the focuses of observation. We observe a variety of perspectives and methods, both macroscopically grasping the overall pattern of art, trend of thought, trends and dynamics, but also a micro-analysis of specific works, authors or a phenomenon, a problem; both see trees and see the forest; both To the nature, form, content, composition for the static solution, but also on the source, evolution, inheritance, variation of the development of retrospective exploration. We also noticed that the horizontal ecosystem that art has or is forming now, that is, from creation to display or application, has a social impact, then enters the market or collection, and then feeds back into creation.
