时代要求我们应在英语教学中实施素质教育.新编英语教学大纲的核心是贯彻素质教育思想,培养学生为交际初步运用英语能力.做为基础教育学科的初中英语和其它学科一样,肩负着提高全民思想道德修养和文化素质的任务.教师要创造性地用好教材,把素质教育渗透于英语教学的全过程,全面提高学生的政治、文化、心理、技能、身体等各种素质,让他们德、智、体、美都得到生动活泼、主动地发展.
