When we talk about the intellectuals of the older generation, we usually see such an image in our minds. We were born in a scholarly family and started a revolution in our early years. Our life experiences ups and downs, but we always cling to our own beliefs. They sacrificed their families for the birth of the republic, and they dedicated the most precious year of their life to the construction of the republic. For them, we also have a title: China’s backbone. The famous jurist Guo Daoshi is such an old intellectual. His family made a great contribution to the revolution. The house of his family had been a secret meeting of revolutionary teachers and students. Under the influence of the family, he joined the revolution very early, worked underground as a student, and later joined the underground party at Tsinghua University. At Tsinghua University, he and other Hunan students, including Zhu Rongji, an old classmate in Changsha City, formed a collective and propagandized Marxism-Leninism. His ideal for realizing his father’s “industrial salvation” was longer than that of Vince and chose the motor major.
