公安部早在20世纪90年代中期就组织了人脸识别技术的研究,继而在2001年将人脸识别技术作为防范打击重大刑事犯罪的关键技术,列入了国家“十五”攻关计划,并取得了重大的研究成果。在逐步应用人脸识别技术的同时,根据社会治安动态安防的重大需求,在国家“十一五”攻关中,进一步扩展了人脸识别的研究内容并加大了研究力度。
