中国文化国际旅行社和英国大使馆文化教育处将于今年在中国举行一项别具一格的文学交流活动,并为该活动起了个散发时代气息的好听的名字:灵感之道——中英作家列车在线。届时,近十位中国和英国著名作家将一同乘坐火车在中国境内进行一次名副其实的文学之旅。这无疑是中英文化交流史上的又一件极具意义的事情。为配合这一活动,英国大使馆文化教育处特意委托我们编辑了“英国当代青年作家作品小辑”。相信通过这一小辑,我国读者会对几位即将踏上中国大地的英国作家有个基本的印象和了解。需要说明的是,小辑中的有关材料均由英国大使馆文化教育处提供,所有作品全由作家们自己选定。不少人为了小辑的顺利出版作出了贡献。在此我们要向所有为这一小辑付出心血和劳动的朋友表示谢意。文学交流说到底就是心灵的交流。在冲突不断、危机四伏的当今世界里,这种心与心的交流显得格外难得和珍贵。因此,我们衷心期望中英两国作家的这次灵感之旅获得成功并留下恒久的回音。
This year, China Culture International Travel Service and Embassy Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy will hold a unique literary exchange activity in China, which will give the event a nice name for exchanging time: Inspiration - English-Chinese writer train online . By then, nearly ten famous Chinese and English writers will take a train together to carry out an authentic literary journey in China. This is undoubtedly another very significant event in the history of Sino-British cultural exchanges. To tie in with this event, the British Embassy Cultural and Education Office specially commissioned us to edit the “British contemporary young writers”. I believe that with this small series, our readers will have a basic impression and understanding of several English writers who are about to embark on the land of China. It should be noted that the relevant materials in the small series are provided by the British Embassy Cultural Education Department, all works by the authors themselves selected. Many people contributed to the smooth publication of the album. Here we would like to express our gratitude to all those who have worked hard for this small series. Ultimately, literary exchange is spiritual communication. In today’s world of conflict and crisis, this heart-to-heart exchange is extremely rare and precious. Therefore, we sincerely hope that this journey of inspiration by the Chinese and British writers will succeed and leave a permanent echo.
