Salvia deserta is a non-medicinal plant that is often mixed with Salvia miltiorrhiza for its shortage of Medicinal S.miltiorhiza. To this end, the chemical composition of Xinjiang Salvia miltiorrhiza was studied to investigate whether the mixed use was reasonable. The methanol extract of Xinjiang Salvia miltiorrhiza root was dissolved with ethyl acetate. The soluble fraction of ethyl acetate was separated by silica gel column and normal phase preparative thin layer chromatography to obtain 8 non-polar
