小学语文教学应立足于促进学生的发展，为他们的终身学习、生活和工作奠定基础。要达到从根本上改进语文教学，提高语文综合素质的目标，必须对语文学科教学内容有个重新认识。一是对教学内容的理解要宽泛；二是要活用课文。除此，还必须在教学中处理好五个关系，即提高学生的语文素质和提高思想道德素质的关系；学生的“学”和教师的“教”的关系；知识、能力、情感的关系；课内与课外的关系；提高教师水平和提高教学质量的关系。
Primary language teaching should be based on promoting the development of students and laying the foundation for their lifelong learning, life and work. To achieve the fundamental goal of improving Chinese teaching and improving the overall quality of Chinese, we must have a new understanding of the teaching content of Chinese subject. First, the understanding of teaching content should be broad; second is to use text.
