1945年农历五月初十,“柳丸”27号船载着1666袋高粱和苞米从大连港2号码头开航,向日本驶去.“柳丸”27号是一条“国际船”.国际船是抗日战争胜利前夕,日本鬼子抓中国劳工赶造的一种大木船.这种船,每条都能装上百吨,船上不安机器,有4张篷,靠风力和人工划着行驶.眼看就要垮台了的日本鬼子就是用这种国际船把从中国掠夺的粮食、煤、盐和其它矿产,强迫中国劳工运到自己国家.中国人一见这种船就来气,骂它是“贼船”.“柳丸”27号船上有10名中国劳工,押船的船长是一个叫长野的日本鬼子,船老大是长海县大耗岛渔民赵维臣.
