The contents of heavy metals Cu, Pb and Cd in the chemical forms of suspended particles in the Changjiang Estuary and its adjacent sea areas were studied, and the characteristics of their migration and transformation between the various forms in the Yangtze River estuary, the river-sea mixed interface and the seafloor were studied. The results showed that non-residue phase was the main form of heavy metal in the Changjiang Estuary, and Fe-Mn oxide was the important carrier for removal. The content of heavy metals in the form of Fe-Mn oxide and carbonate was controlled by the salinity and pH of the water environment The multivariate linear equations of heavy metals with pH value, salinity (X_s) and suspended solids (X_ (ss)) were obtained by multiple regression analysis.
