2012年3月31日,矮寨特大悬索桥正式建成通车,湘渝实现全线高速贯通。今后,从长沙开车到重庆的时空距离大大缩短,全程只需要8h,比坐火车至少节约8h,比此前其他公路通行线路也至少节约4h以上。渝湘高速公路湖南长沙至吉首段和重庆境内路段早已通车,由于地形险峻复杂、施工难度大,连接湖南段和重庆段仅65km的吉茶高速(吉首-茶洞)成为最后建设的路段。而吉茶高速上的矮寨特大悬索桥是该段“天堑
March 31, 2012, Aizai Super Suspension Bridge was officially opened to traffic, Hunan and Chongqing to achieve high-speed across the board. In the future, the space-time distance from Changsha to Chongqing will be greatly shortened. The whole journey only takes 8 hours, which is at least 8 hours less than taking trains.
