山西山阴方言有一种选择问句“A-A?”式,即单音节形容词正反对举式,比如“长短”、“好坏”、“远近”等等。其功能相当于普通话的“A还是-A?”。山西晋语其他方言也有此格式,有些还需要加语气词(PART),构成“A{PART}-A”、“A-A{PART}”或“A{PART}-A{PART}”。从时间层次来看,“A-A?”式相对较早,“A{PART}-A?”、“A-A{PART}?”略晚,而“A{PART}-A{PART}”可能是“A{PART}-A?”、“A-A{PART}?”的混合形式。
