There are many ways to determine the absorbance of beryllium, but the optimal pH ranges for these methods are mostly narrow and inconvenient for handling. Semi-xylenol orange (SXO) as a highly sensitive developer has been used for the determination of the absorptivity of metal ions such as calcium, bismuth, thorium, zirconium and vanadium. However, the reagent and beryllium color reaction research and application has not been reported. In this paper, the conditions for the color reaction of half-xylenol orange with beryllium in the presence of bromine-cutting cetylpyridine (CPB) and its application were studied. Results table
