美英发动的伊拉克战争,于2003年展开行动。台湾的新闻媒体,在两次波斯湾战争的12年间,对于报导这些战争事件的新闻处理上,几乎毫无进步,甚至更为倒退。在多台有线电视新闻频道以CNN实时画面的“战争新闻连续剧”竞逐收视率、以及在数家主要日、晚报在版面上比赛苹果日报化的耸动标题与巨幅战争照片之下,台湾的阅听大众,一如过往的忍受着那些商业媒体制造的另一场浮滥信息的疲劳轰炸。美国展开的血腥战争、与台湾媒体不断“向下修正”的商业恶状,也许是一个再反省
The Iraq war launched by the United States and Britain started operations in 2003. In the 12 years between the two Gulf War, Taiwan’s news media showed little progress or even retrogression in the news reporting on these incidents. Competing for ratings on CNN’s real-time “War News Series” on multiple cable news channels and on Apple Daily’s waved titles and huge war photos on several major days and evening newspapers, Taiwan’s read-publics, as in the past, endured the weary bombing of another flood of information created by commercial media. The bloody war started by the United States and the constant “downward revision” commercial evil with the Taiwan media may be a second reflection
