The Materials Research Society (MRS) holds two annual spring and fall international academic conferences on the latest advances in materials science research. The 1998 Spring Conference was held in the Marriott Hotel in San Francisco from April 13 to April 17, with over 3,000 experts and scholars from all over the world. With 32 themes and nearly 4,000 academic papers, the conference is the largest conference with the largest number of themed participants in recent years.
