The hydraulic design of the coolant pump is directly related to the inverse thermal stress in the engine. The unfavorable factors of full load, maximum rated speed and very high ambient temperature point out the design direction for the R & D personnel. Depending on the design criteria and the fixed gear ratio between the engine and the pump, the engine receives too much coolant in most cases, which means that the coolant pump consumes too much energy.
