Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expression of CD44v6 and nm23H1 and lymph node metastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods: The expressions of CD44v6 and nm23H1 in 52 colorectal cancer specimens were studied by immunohistochemical SP method. Results: The high expression of CD44v6 and the low expression of nm23H1 correlated with the degree of infiltration and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05). CD44v6 positive expression in this group of metastatic lymph nodes was 893% (25/28). The expression of CD44v6 and nm23H1 in colorectal carcinoma was negatively correlated (P <005). Conclusion: The expressions of CD44v6 and nm23H1 play roles in the progression of colorectal carcinoma and lymph node metastasis. Simultaneous detection of CD44v6 and nm23H1 expression can be used as a more objective index for predicting the progression of colorectal cancer and lymph node metastasis.
