Under the leadership of the municipal party committee and municipal government, Nantong Personnel Bureau of Jiangsu Province has made remarkable achievements in focusing on the economic construction center in recent years and vigorously implementing the talent resource development project. By the end of 2003, the total number of talents in the city reached 391,000, of which 225,000 were professional and technical personnel. A number of outstanding experts and top-notch talents emerged. The city enjoyed 224 specialists in the government special allowance and outstanding young and middle-aged experts with more than 1,000 top-notch talents at municipal, county (city) level and more than 10,000 high-level personnel in short supply.
