火棘又名火把果、救军粮,属蔷薇科火棘属植物。原产于我国西南、华南、西北、华中及华东等地。笔者所在河北任丘市华北石油工矿区的土壤属中度盐碱地,火棘在避风向阳的小环境能安全露地越冬,生长良好。繁殖播种、扦插和分株均可,生产中多以播种繁殖为主。播种秋季果熟后堆放,果肉发软时在水中揉搓,除去皮肉后得纯净种子,即可秋播。或将种子阴干,混2~3倍细湿沙藏至春天播种。由于火棘种子细 Pyracantha also known as the torch, save the military grain, is Rosaceae Pyracantha.
