《失落园》这部长篇史诗描写了人类由于撒旦的引诱而堕落,以及撒旦自己的堕落。《解放了的普罗密修斯》这部诗剧,歌颂了代表人类的普罗密修斯的解放。撒旦和普罗密修斯具有一些相同点:他们都反叛上帝,不与上帝正面交锋,代表被禁止的知识,破坏了人类的幸福。但是在向上帝复仇时两者表现有所不同:复仇的理由性质不同,复仇的过程、方式、和结局不同。两者的命运由自己决定的。撒旦骄傲,欲取代上帝,反倒一再堕落;普罗密修斯充满爱心,欲推翻暴君,最终获得解放。
The epic poem “Lost Park” depicts the fall of mankind as a result of Satan’s temptation and Satan’s own fall. The liberation of Prometheus drama, praises the liberation of Prometheus on behalf of humanity. Satan shares some similarities with Prometheus in that they all rebel against God and do not confront God directly, representing forbidden knowledge and undermining human happiness. But the two manifest themselves differently when avenged God: the reason for vengeance is of a different nature, and the process, manner, and outcome of revenge are different. The fate of both is up to you. Satan pride, to replace God, but on the contrary has fallen; Prometheus full of love, to overthrow the tyrant, eventually liberated.
