我于1974年4月～1975年7月在河北省青少年体校篮球队学习。1976年4月调入河北省田径队从事铅球专项训练,2001年退役,在运动场上共拼杀26年,其间,参加了三届奥运会(第23、24和26届)。1984年第23届奥运会上,以17.97米获得第五名;1988年在汉城以21.06米的成绩获得第三名,当时,是整个亚洲田径界唯一的一块奥运奖牌。另外还参加过三届世界锦标赛,1987年罗马第二届世界锦标赛以20.43米获得第七名;1997年芬兰第六届世界锦标赛获得第六名。此外,还分别获得过东亚运动会、亚洲锦标赛、以及亚运会冠军。除此之外,还获得全国冠军18个,打破全国纪录、亚洲纪录共26次,至今还保持着21.76米的全国及亚洲纪录。成绩的取得,是国家多年培养、教育的结果,与各级领导的关心支持密不可分,当然更与教练员制定多年的科学的、合理的训练计划有着直接密切关系,是在教练员的精心指导下,再加上自己的努力克服各种困难所取得的。现在,自己正在从事教练员工作,回顾这二十多年运动生涯中所走过的路和取得的成绩,觉得有必要加以整理和总结,为自己,也为其他人提供参考。
