江泽民主席在1999年第三次全国教育工作会议上对教育创新提出了要求:“面对世界科学技术飞速发展的挑战,我们必须把增强民族创新能力提高到关系中华民族兴衰存亡的高度来认识.教育在培育民族创新精神和培养创造性人才方面肩负着特殊的使命.”
At the third national education conference in 1999, President Jiang Zemin put forward requirements for education innovation: “In the face of the challenges of the rapid development of science and technology in the world, we must recognize the strengthening of national innovation capabilities to a height that relates to the rise and fall of the Chinese nation. Education shoulders a special mission in cultivating national innovation spirit and cultivating creative talents."
