Lead-zinc tailings are extremely poor and often contain high levels of toxic heavy metals, making ecological restoration difficult. In this study, the sludge was used as a modifier in the lead-zinc tailings. Through indoor dynamic equilibrium experiments, the sludge was tested under different applied dosage (0.5%, 1%, 2%, 5%) under different conditions Period on the availability of heavy metals in lead-zinc mine tailings. The results showed that the effective concentration of Pb, Zn, Cu and Cd in the tailings can be obviously reduced when the residual sludge is applied at 5%, and the effective concentration of Zn and Cd can be obviously reduced when the dosage is 2%. The remaining sludge can significantly increase the available N and available K content in the tailings. The results showed that the remaining sludge could help to reduce the availability of heavy metals in the lead-zinc tailings. The stability of heavy metals in the tailings was better than that of 0.5%, 1% and 2% when the amount of sludge was 5% .
