在历经连续两届奥运会美、苏之间相互抵制之后,由前苏联倡议并得到美国和前民主德国的积极响应,第一届国际友好运动会于1986年7月5～20日在莫斯科举行。来自世界各大洲50多个国家的3000多名选手,参加了18个项目175枚金牌的角逐。这是自1976年梦特利尔奥运会后十年来苏、美、民主德国之间的首次交手。东道主前苏联共获118枚金牌,美国以金牌42枚列第二,前民主德国与罗马尼亚各获金牌7枚,我国获4银4铜牌。这届运动会共创6项世界纪录。从此又一世界大赛诞生
After two consecutive Olympic Games, the United States and the Soviet Union boycotted each other. The initiative of the former Soviet Union and the positive response of the United States and former Democrat Germany, the first International Friendly Games, were held in Moscow from July 5 to July 20, 1986. Over 3,000 athletes from more than 50 countries on all continents participated in 175 gold medals in 18 projects. This is the first encounter between the Soviet Union, the United States and the Democratic Republic of Germany since the 1976 Monterrey Olympic Games. The former Soviet Union won 118 gold medals in the former Soviet Union, the United States ranked second in gold medal 42, the former Democratic Germany and Romania each won 7 gold medals, and our country won 4 silver, 4 bronze medals. This Games will create six world records. Since then another world contest was born
