Basic researches on phosphorus chemistry have been developed rapidly during the past two decades. First, a number of low and high coordinated phosphorus compounds have been synthesized, and their reactivities and properties have been widely investigated; secondly, it is explored that phosphorus element plays an important role in life chemistry involving phosphorylation reaction, correlation between configuration and activity of c-AMP, as well as the synthesis of DNA, etc. Remarkable progress has been well known in these areas.
