诺顿公司新出了一种锆刚玉砂带,商品牌号叫作“NorZon”,据说切削率可提高40%,使用寿命可延长50%到250%。(这种砂带曾经在150条生产线上与标准的砂带进行试验对比,加工的金属从铝和软钢、不锈钢、合金钢到因科镍合金,磨削性能都比较好。) 新砂带的这些性能来自磨粒的“自锐”结构,按照诺顿公司的说法,这种锆刚玉磨粒在使用中其断口成锯齿状,所以能始终保持锐利。电上砂的过程使磨粒按不同高度分布并且排列方向略为一致,当个别磨粒磨损脱落时,新的磨粒就露出来了,因此砂带的工作寿命较长。
Norton has a new zirconium corundum belt, called “NorZon,” which is said to offer a 40% improvement in cutting rates and a 50% to 250% longer life. (This type of belt was once tested in 150 production lines against a standard belt where the machinability of the metal is better from aluminum and mild steel, stainless steel, alloy steel to Inconel) These properties come from the “self-sharpening” structure of the abrasive grain, which, according to Norton, maintains its sharpness at all times when it is serrated in use. Electric sand on the process of distribution of abrasive particles at different heights and the direction of alignment is somewhat consistent, when individual abrasive wear off, the new abrasive exposed, so the belt longer working life.
