In clinical application, because the functions and indications of Galla chinensis and Radix Astragali are quite similar, some doctors often use prescription drugs to replace each other. When investigating personnel, they often indiscriminately cast the gall to be a literary manuscript and cast the mandarin as gall. Some medical books and periodicals also have “Wen Shu”, that is, “Five times” other name records. For example, in the “Chinese medicine prescription medicine” in the part of the introduction of the astringent medicine, there will be “five times the son (Wen Shu)” said. (Guangdong People’s Publishing House, 1973, 1st ed., p. 768) It can be seen that it is no coincidence that the Chinese medicine “Wenqi” is an alias for “Five-times”. If this situation continues, mistakes will be made, and the effect will be affected, and if it is caused, it will result in mistreatment. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify this source.
