Objective To investigate the expression of nuclear factor-κBp65 (NF-κBp65) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in gestational diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods The clinical data of 250 pregnant women who gave birth in Zhangjiagang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected. 97 pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus were enrolled as research group and 153 normal pregnant women as control group. The levels of NF-κBp65 in serum and umbilical cord blood , The level of TNF-α and the positive rate in placental tissue were analyzed. Results The levels of NF-κBp65 in serum and umbilical cord blood of the study group were (875.66 ± 148.67) and (880.72 ± 151.57) ng / L, which were significantly higher than those in the control group (312.39 ± 95.38 and 327.84 ± 94.23) ng / L, respectively The levels of TNF-αin serum and umbilical cord blood of the study group were (7.72 ± 0.23) and (8.17 ± 0.36) ng / L, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of the control group (5.54 ± 0.59 and 5.79 ± 0.43) ng / L, All were statistically significant (P <0.05). The positive rates of NF-κBp65 and TNF-α in the two groups of placenta were 92.78% and 95.88%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control group (22.88% and 13.73%, P < 0.05). Conclusion The expression of NF-κBp65 and TNF-α in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus is higher than that of normal pregnant women, suggesting that both of them may promote the development of gestational diabetes mellitus.
