The development of modern pluralistic society and the diversification of educational needs have given birth to the phenomenon of home education. Since its inception, there has been a tremendous amount of controversy over home education, whether in the United States, Canada, Singapore, Japan or China, Taiwan and other countries and regions. In the United States, for example, almost all the states in 1975 considered home-based education illegal and even fined or jailed for being considered a criminal offense. What is amazing, however, is that by 1993, every state in the United States recognized home education and granted its legal status. Such an approach not only exists in the United States, but the same goes for home education in Australia and Taiwan. This shows the vitality of home education from one aspect. This article starts from the reasons why the American home education is accepted by parents and explores the current situation of home education in the United States in order to provide reference and reference for the new leap in home education in China.
