Consumerism tendencies began to emerge in the new historical novels appearing in the mid-1980s, and then further developed in the historical writing trend of the play-off history, culminating in the through-the-game novels of game history and finally completed in recent years The Trilogy of the Turning of Consumerism in Historical Novels. This shift of consumerism is mainly manifested in the history of fragmentation, desires and imitation narrative. Historical novels become collages with historical elements and no sense of history. The truth of history has become elusive. The descriptive writing of personality traits has made historical narrative a pseudo-personal narrative in cultural and industrial production. The narrative broke the boundary between documentary and fiction, resulting in the randomness and unreliability of the historical expression. This kind of creation turns to make history become the object of consumption for the general public under the background of consuming society. The function that the historical novel should bear to construct the collective memory of the group is weakened. As a result, national identity is also facing the risk of being weakened.
