Objective: To investigate the effect of intrauterine low level lead exposure on the physical development of neonates. Methods: From March to September 2000, 80 newborns of Han nationality and 59 Uighur born in our hospital and Urumqi MCH hospital were enrolled in this study. Cord blood lead levels were measured and measured within 1 hour of neonatal bleeding Its weight, height, head circumference, left arm circumference. Results: (1) Umbilical blood lead levels in 139 neonates were between 10 and 329 (65.08 ± 43.88) μg / L, of which Umbilical cord blood lead of Uighur newborns was higher than that of Han nationality (p <0.05). Blood lead ≥ 100μg / L in 49 cases, accounting for 35.25%. (2) Neonatal cord blood lead and neonatal weight, height, head circumference was negatively correlated (p <0.01). CONCLUSIONS: Intrauterine low levels of lead exposure may have adverse effects on the physical development of newborns.
