The word “popular” is nothing more than “popular” nowadays. So, what is meant by “popular” TV series? The editor of this issue has pointed out in the press that it generally refers to the TV drama series that have been hot-fried in the society and have a greater impact on the audience or commented more. Facts show that a TV series can win the title and effect of “popular”, often not necessarily with its own ideological and artistic level of the upper hand. In other words, the hotter the drama, it does not mean that the more gold-bearing works, and sometimes I am afraid there will be exactly the opposite situation. This is an example of a market economy. Everything in the world is always relative, dialectical, not absolute. “Popular” drama does have a lot of leaders, at the same time, there are also some speculation out of the poor works. This kind of good and bad doping situation may still exist for a long time in the future. Therefore, as we have always emphasized, it is very important and necessary to uphold the positive and healthy literary criticism. The articles published in this issue of Comrade Jiang Shoubin put forward his own views on certain works of the “popular” TV series in a profound and insightful manner that deserves the attention of colleagues in the television industry. We welcome people of insight from all walks of life to continue to express their views on this issue so that discussions on the issue can be deepened and results achieved.
