In March 1985, a unit hoisting operator drove the QY20 truck crane and unloaded a 480 kg electric welding machine from the car. At that time, the crane only extended the vertical leg, did not extend the horizontal leg, then lifted the electric welding machine with the basic arm, when the boom turned counterclockwise to its hook from the rightmost end of the crane bumper 8.5 meters, began Extend the second and third arm and want to unload the welding machine farther away. When the boom reached 17.2 meters, the crane lost its balance and the car body tilted to the right, followed by a full vehicle dump of 90 degrees, causing a serious accident. It was analyzed that: for the operator did not stretch horizontal legs, lifting torque exceeds the tilting moment. Tire cranes often cause cranes to tip over due to lifting heavy weights, excessive inertial forces caused by manipulation errors, subsidence of supporting surfaces, or excessive wind during lifting operations.
