10月7日,2010年度英国皇家建筑师协会金奖(RIBA Royal Gold Medal2010)颁出,获奖者是大卫·奇普菲尔德(David Chipperfield),这位年近六十的英国建筑师凭借德国柏林的新博物馆获得今年的斯特林奖提名却铩羽而归,然而英国皇家建筑师协会依旧以一个金奖对他毕生的建设予以了肯定。这个荣誉或多或少补偿了他未获得“2010年斯特林奖”(2010 Stirling Prize)的损失。
On October 7, 2010, the RIBA Royal Gold Medal 2010 was presented with the prize winner David Chipperfield. The nearly 60-year-old British architect, based in Berlin, Germany, The new museum won the Stirling nomination this year, but plunged, however, the Royal Institute of British Architects is still a gold medal for his life to be affirmed. This honor more or less compensates for the loss he did not receive from the 2010 Stirling Prize.
