英国剑桥大学生理学家 R.G.Edwards 和奥德姆总医院妇产科学家 P.C.Steptoe 从1968年左右开始合作研究试管婴儿——卵子的体外受精、培养和移植。1970年发表合写的第一篇论文。他们坚持十年之久,终于在1978年7月25日晚,剖腹产出世界上第一个试管婴儿,Louise Brown。而后,印度、澳大利亚也传来孕育出试管婴儿的消息,后者孕育出世界第一个自然分娩的试管婴儿。这些婴儿的诞生引起全世界的极大关注。
R.G. Edwards, University of Cambridge Physiologists, and P.Cteptoe, MD, of Audub General Hospital, have worked together since 1968 to study IVF-IVF in vitro fertilization, culture and transplantation. 1970 co-wrote the first essay. They insisted for a decade, and finally on the night of July 25, 1978, Caesarean section produced the world’s first test-tube baby, Louise Brown. Later, in India, Australia also gave birth to test-tube baby news, which gave birth to the world’s first natural childbirth test-tube baby. The birth of these babies has drawn great attention worldwide.
