边虫病常见于反刍动物,是由立克次体目、无浆体科、边虫属的各种病原引起。牛、绵羊、山羊、水牛等反刍动物可通过红细胞内的边虫属寄生虫引起感染,对于养牛业的危害更加严重。边虫病常发生在热带及亚热带地区,在我国主要见于南方,确诊需进行实验室诊断。
