April 15, 2005 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Navy Lushun Base. Lushun, located at the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, shares the Bohai Strait with the Miaodao Islands and Penglaijiao on the northern side of the Shandong Peninsula, forming a barrier to the coasts of Beijing, Tianjin and the Bohai Sea. There are famous natural harbor famous here, the terrain is dangerous, easily defensible; harbor deep wave, year-round non-freezing.
