这部获得各电影颁奖礼大奖的史诗式的电影,从反面人物Antonio Salieri在年老时回忆的角度向我们呈现了一代音乐天才Mozart充满传奇的一生。相比起他那些为世人耳熟能详的名曲,他被奸人所害、英年早逝的结局并不那么为人所知。Salieri因为妒恨Mozart的才华,从崇拜到对他渐生恨意,再到动杀机,然后一边扮神秘人来紧紧逼迫重病的Mozart写下安魂曲,一边又用谗言令Mozart孤立无援。最后,病困交加的Mozart倒在了他那未完的巨作中。
令人欣慰的是,Antonio Salieri,这位奥地利御用作曲家的作品因为平庸早早就被后人遗忘,而Mozart的每一首作品都流进了人们的生命中。Salieri所期望的,用他本人的作品作为Mozart葬礼上的安魂曲,也没能如愿。
Antonio Salieri: ①Leave me alone.
Priest: I cannot leave alone a soul in pain.
Salieri: Do you know who I am?
Priest: That makes no difference. All men are equal in
God’s eyes.
Salieri: Are they?
Priest: Offer me your confession. I can offer you
God’s forgiveness.
Salieri: How well are you trained in music?
Priest: I know a little. I studied it in my youth.
Salieri: Where?
Priest: Here in Vienna.
Salieri: Ah, then you must know this. (Salieri’s playing
a song.)
Priest: I can’t say that I do. What is it?
Salieri: It was a very popular tune in its day. I wrote it. Here, how about this? (Salieri’s playing another song.) ②This one brought down the house when we played it first. Well?
Priest: I regret it is not too familiar.
Salieri: Can you recall no melody of mine? I was the most famous composer in Europe. I wrote 40 operas alone. Here! What about this one? (Salieri’s playing another song.)
Priest: (singing with the music) Yes, I know that! Oh, that’s charming! I’m sorry, I didn’t know you wrote that.
Salieri: I didn’t. That was Mozart. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Priest: The man you accuse yourself of killing.
Salieri: You’ve heard that?
Priest: Is it true? For God’s sake, my son, if you have something to confess, do it now. Give yourself some peace.
(At the end of their conversation)

Salieri: It was 1)incomprehensible! What was God up to? Was it possible I was being tested? Was God expecting me to offer forgiveness in the face of every offense? No matter how painful? It’s very possible. But why him? Why choose Mozart to teach me lessons in 2)humility? My heart was filling up with such hatred for that little man. For the first time in my life, I began to know really violent thoughts.
My plan was so simple that it terrified me. First, I must get the death Mass, and then I must achieve his death.
Priest: What?
Salieri: His funeral! Imagine it! The 3)cathedral all Vienna sitting there. His coffin, Mozart’s little coffin in the middle. And then in that silence…music.
③A 4)divine music bursts out over them all. A great Mass of death. 5)Requiem Mass for Wolfgang Mozart. Composed by his devoted friend, Antonio Salieri. What 6)sublimity! What depth! What passion in the music! Salieri has been touched by God at last and God forced to listen! Powerless to stop it! I, for once, in the end, laughing at him!
The only thing that worried me was the actual killing. How does one do that? How does one kill a man? It’s one thing to dream about it. Very different when you...when you have to do it with your own hands.

我的计划那么地简单,那使我非常害怕。首先,我必须去买死亡面具(扮作神秘人来向莫扎特约乐稿,)然后我必须使他死亡。
神父:什么?
萨列里:他的葬礼!想想看!大教堂里,全维也纳的人坐在那里。他的棺材,中间就是莫扎特的小棺材,然后在沉默中……音乐响起。
四周突然冒出了天籁般的音乐,这是伟大的死亡弥撒,沃尔夫冈·莫扎特的安魂曲。由他忠实的朋友,安东尼·萨列里所写的,真是太神圣啦!太有深度啦!多么充满激情的音乐!萨列里终于受到了上帝的感召,上帝被迫要去听!没有任何的力量可以阻止!我,最后终于有机会去取笑他!
唯一使我担心的是,如何实际下手杀他,这到底要怎么去做?到底要怎么样去杀一个人?这是可以去梦想的事。可是当你……当你要亲手去做时,却是非常不同的。
