This paper focuses on suburban governance on the fringe of big cities in developing countries, arguing that one of the characteristics of the fringe is the coexistence of slums and suburbs. This spatial characteristic does not mean that state power is limited or out of control, or can be interpreted as another manifestation of state power. Its connotation is the elasticity of geographical space and urban informality. This article also discusses the different types of political life forms and their spatial differences, in other words, the outskirts of urban politics. Therefore, the paper points out that the key to the theorization of the post-colonial suburbs lies not in the historical background of being colonized, but in marking the differences between space, society and nation.
